Day 40

Distance Covered: 170miles
Total Distance Covered: 8168miles

Setting off knowing that we could get stuck again at any time we made sure we took any potentially sandy section at speed and probably down to this made very good time, arriving at our destination far earlier than anticipated. After filling up on diesel, a few food items and some well deserved (in our opinion) beverages we carried on at a leisurely pace knowing that the until now, seemingly endless, deserted sandy tracks were for the time being behind us. Finding a good camping spot by a river Hugh and I set about gathering firewood while Jeremy went fishing. After only about half an hour he returned with 3 decent sized Greyling. With our main course sorted we barbequed them on the fire after a soup starter and tucked into some delightful, freshly caught fish. A couple of beers and an episode of criminal minds later we went to bed.
