Crossed the border early with a few issues, pedantic customs officers (One guy who had been awake for 2 days enquired if we smoked “marijuana” and when we said no told us he did and that we should as it “grows everywhere in Kyrgyzstan”. He also tried to persuade us to have a drink of vodka with him and insisted on trying on all our hats), questionable paperwork costing $50 and the usual poor directions/signage. Pit-stopping in Osh we grabbed some internet, money and water and then made our way to Arslanbob where we finally joined up with Jeremy. We camped in a home-stay where we were treated to hearty local meal.
