Day 13

We arose to find a young rotarian called Alex waiting for us and to our delight he spoke perfect English. He told us that he was to be our guide today around Kiev but first we would be provided with breakfast, warm showers and a clothes washing service. Clean and refreshed we set out into Kiev for a spot of sightseeing only to be greeted by torrential rain, undeterred we wandered the streets as best we could until late into the afternoon, stopping only for chicken Kiev and rice. In the evening we celebrated Burt's last supper in a nearby cafe accompanied by several many beers and then headed back to the hospital to bed.
